Security

Manage test-taker restrictions to protect assessment content and ensure secure testing conditions.

Updated 2026/02/23

Security settings allow you to control the environment in which the test is taken by disabling certain browser behaviors and embedding optional tracking mechanisms. These configurations help minimize the risk of cheating, content leakage, or unauthorized access during the test session.

Set restrictions to protect the test from unauthorized actions or content leakage.

Restriction Options

You can enable or disable the following restrictions individually:

  • Prevent Selection (Text Copy)

Blocks the ability to highlight and copy text from the test interface. This helps prevent copying questions or answers.

    • Prevent Print

Disables the browser’s print functionality, preventing test content from being printed or saved as a PDF.

      • Prevent Context Menu (Right Click)

Deactivates the right-click context menu, which can be used to inspect elements or copy content.

        • Prevent Google Translate

Prevents browser-based translation tools from interacting with the test page. This is useful when language comprehension is part of what’s being assessed.

          • Prevent Spell Check

Disables browser-native spell check features. Particularly important in language-based assessments or input fields where spelling should be assessed manually.

Each of these settings can be enabled independently, allowing you to customize the security level based on your specific use case.

            Tracking Options

In addition to restrictions, you can embed tracking elements into your test content:

            • Include tracking-barcode into questions

Adds a unique barcode identifier to each question. If screenshots are shared externally, this can help trace the source back to the test-taker.

              • Include tracking-QR code into questions

Similar to barcodes, but encoded as a scannable QR code. Useful in environments where visual identification and traceability are required.

These identifiers are particularly effective in high-stakes assessments or proctored settings where test security is a priority.

                Best Practices
✅Use all available restrictions when administering high-stakes or remotely proctored tests.
✅For experimental or low-risk tests, consider enabling only the essential restrictions.
✅Combine visual tracking (barcodes or QR codes) with other monitoring tools (e.g., webcam proctoring, screen recording) for maximum coverage.
