Efficiently manage user access by customizing roles and permissions at a granular level. Learn how to use Custom Access User roles and assign special permissions either across all tasks or for specific tasks.
When adding or editing a user:
• In the Roles section, select Custom Access User.
• A pencil icon (✏️) will appear next to the role. Click it to open the Special Permission settings.
Special permissions allow you to precisely control:
• Which tabs the user can access (such as Results, Live, Edit, Operation).
• Which actions the user can perform (such as Export, Evaluation, Monitoring, etc.).
There are two ways to define permissions:
Apply general permissions across all tasks:
• Grant access to certain tabs (Results, Live, Edit, Operation).
• Authorize specific actions (Export, Re-setup, Questions & Answers, Evaluation, etc.).
• If you check Allow access to all tasks, the user will be able to use the assigned permissions across every task.
Restrict permissions to specific tasks:
• Add individual tasks and define allowed tabs and actions for each task separately.
• Ideal when you want a user to manage only certain projects or exams.

Action Authorization Description
Questions & Answers Access candidates' submitted answers.
Export Download exam results and submissions.
Re-setup Reset or reconfigure an exam.
Evaluation Grade or evaluate open-ended questions.
Monitoring View monitoring data like videos, screen recordings, screenshots.
• To export test questions and answers, you must grant both Questions & Answers and Export permissions.
• Giving access to Results and Operation tabs without appropriate action permissions might limit functionality.
• Be cautious when enabling Allow access to all tasks, as it grants broader visibility.
Adding New Users & Assigning Roles
Special Permissions allow you to control exactly which tabs and actions a user can access, ensuring they only see or perform what they are authorized for. It's ideal for limiting responsibilities without creating new roles.
Yes. Instead of giving permissions for all tasks, you can use the For Specific Tasks option to limit a user's access to selected tasks only.
When you enable "Allow access to all tasks," the permissions you set will apply universally across all current and future tasks in your organization.
You can configure access to the Edit, Operation, Results, and Live tabs, as well as actions like Export, Monitoring, Evaluation, Questions & Answers, and Re-setup.
