File upload questions
Design questions in which responders are required to upload a file as their response.
Updated 2026/02/23
File upload questions enable test-takers to submit one or more files as their response. This question type is ideal for collecting offline work, completed assignments, or any type of document that cannot be assessed with standard input formats.
Creating a file upload question
- Go to the Question bank and click + New Question.
- Select File Upload as the question type.
- Enter your question prompt in the editor (e.g., “Please upload your project file.”).
Test-takers will see a simple upload interface, where they can:
- Upload the desired file from their computer.
- Remove or replace a file before submission if needed.
