Interpretations
How to add custom interpretation labels and notes tied to score ranges, and how they appear in result reports.
The Interpretations tab lets you attach custom labels and explanatory text to specific score ranges. While performance levels give a test-taker a single label (e.g., “Intermediate”), interpretations let you provide richer context — such as what that score means in practice, what to do next, or how to communicate the result to a hiring manager.
Setting Up Interpretations
Define one or more interpretation blocks. For each block, specify:
- Score range — the minimum and maximum score that triggers this interpretation
- Label — a short title or tag for the interpretation (e.g., “Strong Fit”, “Needs Development”)
- Notes — longer descriptive text explaining what the score means or what action is recommended
How Interpretations Appear
When a test-taker's score falls within a defined interpretation range, the corresponding label and notes are included in their result report (if the report template has the interpretations block enabled). Interpretations can also be visible in the admin panel results view to help assessors make consistent decisions.
Interpretations are particularly useful in high-stakes assessments where a score alone is not enough — decision-makers need contextual guidance on what the score means and what to do with it.
