Test Settings
All test-level settings — navigation control, shuffle, time limits, calculator, and the test window interface.
Open Test Settings from the navigation panel to configure how the test behaves during delivery. Settings here apply test-wide; individual sections and pages can override some of them.
Navigation Control
Navigation control determines which pages a test-taker can access during the test. It can be set at the test level (applies to all sections by default) and overridden per section.
- Two-Way — free navigation. Test-takers can move forward and backward between pages at any time. This is the most flexible option.
- One-Way — linear navigation. Test-takers can only move forward; they cannot return to a page once they leave it. Use this when you want to prevent candidates from revising earlier answers after seeing later questions.
- No Navigation — no page controls are shown. This is typically used for single-page tests or when you want the test to advance automatically.
Shuffle
When shuffle is enabled, the order of questions within each page is randomized for every test-taker. This reduces the risk of candidates sharing answers in sequence.
Shuffle operates at the page level — questions within a page are shuffled, but the pages themselves stay in their defined order (unless page-level shuffle is also enabled in the section settings).
Time Limits
A test-level time limit sets the maximum total duration for the entire test. When the timer expires, the test is automatically submitted.
Time limits can be set in minutes or seconds. A conversion button toggles between the two units so you can enter whichever is more convenient. The display shows both (e.g., “90 min 30 sec”) for confirmation.
Time limits can also be set at the section level and the page level. When multiple time limits are active, each applies independently — whichever limit is reached first ends the respective scope.
Test Window Interface
Controls how the navigation bar appears in the test-taking window:
- Fixed navigation bar — the navigation controls remain visible at all times, even on long pages. If disabled, the bar is only visible when the test-taker scrolls to the top.
- Hide navigation bar — removes the navigation bar entirely. Use with No Navigation mode for a fully minimal interface.
Calculator
Enable the built-in scientific calculator for test-takers. When enabled, a calculator icon appears in the test window toolbar during the session. Use this for tests that involve numerical or quantitative questions where candidates are expected to have access to a calculator.
Section-level navigation, shuffle, and time limits override test-level settings for that section only — other sections continue to use the test-level defaults.
