Tests Overview
What a Test is, how tests relate to tasks, and a guide to the three main tabs in the Tests section.
A Test is the assessment template you build — the questions, structure, scoring rules, and delivery settings. Tests are reusable: you define a test once and then link it to one or more Tasks, which control who takes it, when, and under what conditions. Candidates never interact with a test directly; they access it through a task.
Tests and Tasks
The distinction between a test and a task is fundamental to how TestInvite works:
- A Test defines what is assessed — the questions, pages, sections, time limits, scoring, and reporting configuration.
- A Task defines who takes it and how — the candidate list, registration method, scheduling, proctoring, and result-sharing rules.
- One test can be linked to multiple tasks. You might run the same test as a private invite-only exam in one task and as a self-registration practice session in another.
The Three Tabs
My Tests
Your organization's own tests. This is where you create, configure, and manage every test you build from scratch. All tests you create live here and can be edited, cloned, organized, and linked to tasks.
Test Library
A curated collection of pre-built tests organized by skill area, role, language, and difficulty. You can browse and add library tests to your account and then customize them or use them as-is.
Marketplace
Test products available for purchase with credits. Some tests are free; others require a credit balance. Once acquired, they appear in your account and can be linked to tasks like any other test.
Test Limit
Your plan determines how many active tests your organization can have at once. The Tests page shows your current count and limit. If you approach or reach the limit, an indicator appears with an option to upgrade your plan.
Every test you create stays in your Question Bank — the questions are not duplicated when you clone a test or link it to multiple tasks.
