How Credits Work
What a testing credit pays for, how much your plan includes, rollover, and buying more.
A testing credit is what pays for actually delivering a test. Every time a candidate starts a test, credits are redeemed from your organization's balance.
What Consumes a Credit
Starting a test costs 1 credit by default. Additional credits are charged on top when you enable certain security features for that test delivery — charged once, when the candidate starts:
| Feature | Additional credits |
|---|---|
| Webcam — photo capture | +3 |
| Webcam — video recording | +8 |
| Screen — photo capture | +3 |
| Screen — video recording | +8 |
| AI cheating detection | +5 |
| Lockdown browser | +2 |
These stack: enabling webcam photo capture and lockdown browser together on a test costs 1 + 3 + 2 = 6 credits per test start.
Free Credits Each Cycle
Every yearly plan loads a set number of free credits at the start of each billing cycle — the amount depends on your plan. See Compare Plans for the exact figure per plan. Monthly billing does not include free credits.
Credits Roll Over on Renewal
Unused credits carry over into the next cycle when your subscription renews — they don't expire or reset to zero just because a new cycle started.
Buying Additional Credits
You can purchase more credits at any time your subscription is active. Larger packages cost less per credit — volume discounts apply automatically as you buy more.
Earning Free Credits
Beyond your plan's allotment and purchased packs, you can also earn free credits through certain actions or promotions — these are added to your balance the same way as purchased credits.
Tracking Your Balance
Your current balance, purchase history, and every credit-consuming event are all visible from your organization's Billing section in the dashboard.
