How Subscriptions Work

Billing cycles, upgrading, downgrading, cancelling, and TestInvite's no-refund policy.

Updated 2026/08/31

You need an active subscription for as long as you want to deliver tests to candidates. If your subscription lapses, your organization, content, and question bank all stay intact — you simply can't start new test sessions until you resubscribe.

Billing Cycles

Every plan can be billed monthly or yearly. This choice matters beyond just the payment frequency: free testing credits are only loaded on the yearly cycle. A monthly subscription does not include any free credits — you'd need to buy credit packs for every test you deliver. Choosing yearly billing is what actually grants your plan's included credits each year.

Upgrading Your Plan

You can upgrade to a higher plan at any time. The charge is prorated — you pay the difference between your old and new plan's price, scaled to the time remaining in your current billing cycle. Your billing date doesn't change; the next full charge still happens at your original renewal date.

Downgrading Your Plan

You can downgrade at any time. It takes effect immediately, at no extra charge — and with no refund for the unused difference in your current cycle. Your existing credit balance is unaffected by a downgrade between paid plans.

Cancelling

Cancelling stops future billing; your subscription remains active through the end of the period you've already paid for. Once it lapses, test delivery stops, but your organization and its content are preserved.

No Refunds

Once a subscription is invoiced, it is not refundable, for straightforward accounting reasons. TestInvite front-loads the effort into helping you make the right choice before that point instead — one-on-one meetings with our team, a free trial, and this documentation — so you invoice with confidence rather than needing a refund afterward.
