Language & Translations
The task's language sets the candidate-facing interface language, and translation settings optionally let candidates view everything — even test content — in other languages via Google Translate.

Two related settings control what language candidates experience: the task's language and its translation settings.
Task Language
The task language sets the language of the candidate-facing interface — buttons, labels, system messages — for every page of the task. It's independent of the language your test content is written in: you author the content, the platform translates its own interface.
Translation Settings
Translation settings optionally let candidates switch the task into other languages using Google Translate:
- Use Google Translate — the master switch; off means candidates only ever see the task language.
- Translate test content — whether translation covers the questions and answers themselves, or only the interface around them. Keep this off when precise wording is part of what's being tested (e.g. language assessments).
- Languages — either enable all languages, or choose a specific list candidates can pick from.
Machine translation of test content can subtly change a question's difficulty or even leak the answer through word choice — for high-stakes or language-sensitive assessments, keep test content translation off and offer professionally translated test versions instead.
