End Test Session

End Test Session force-completes a session that is still running — the candidate's answers so far are finalized and scored as if they had submitted, and the candidate can no longer continue.

End Test Session force-completes a session that is still running. The candidate's answers up to that moment are finalized and scored exactly as if they had pressed submit; if they're still in the exam, it closes for them.

When to Use It

  • A candidate abandoned the session — it shows as Started but nothing has happened for hours; ending it turns the partial work into a scored result.
  • The sitting is over — the exam window closed and stragglers need to be cut off consistently.
  • As the first half of a reinstate — an ongoing session can't be reinstated directly; end it first, then reinstate the completed session.

How It Behaves

  • Runs on one session or a bulk selection; sessions that aren't running are skipped and reported — nothing eligible is silently ignored.
  • The same operation is available live from the Exam Monitor while the exam runs.
  • The result records that completion was triggered by an admin rather than the candidate.
Ending is not deleting: the session, its answers, its recordings, and its logs all remain. If the candidate deserves another chance, reinstate the ended session — nothing is lost by ending first.
