Bulk Updating Questions

The Mass Update tool lets you apply changes to many questions at once without editing them individually. Select the questions you want to update in the question list, then click the Mass Update button in the toolbar to open the dialog.

How It Works

1. Select one or more questions in the question list using the checkboxes.
2. Click the Mass Update button in the toolbar.
3. In the dialog, choose an operation from the left sidebar and configure it on the right.
4. Click Apply. The change is applied to all selected questions immediately.

Operations are grouped into five categories. You can only run one operation at a time, but you can repeat the process to chain multiple changes.

Folder & Tags

• Update Folder — move all selected questions to a different folder.
• Add Extra Tags — add tags to the selected questions without removing their existing tags.
• Remove Tags — remove specific tag keys from all selected questions.
• Update Tags — replace all tags on the selected questions with a new tag set.
• Rename a Tag — rename a tag key across all selected questions. The new name cannot already exist on those questions.
• Update Folder & Tags — change folder and replace the full tag set in a single operation.

Labels

Labels are free-form string attributes distinct from tags (which are key-value pairs). Three operations are available:

• Add Labels — add new labels without removing existing ones.
• Remove Labels — remove specific labels from all selected questions.
• Overwrite Labels — replace all labels on the selected questions with a new set.

Dimensions

Available on plans that include the Dimensions feature.

• Add Dimension — add scoring dimensions to all selected questions.
• Overwrite Dimensions — replace all scoring dimensions on the selected questions.
• Remove Dimensions — remove specific dimensions from all selected questions.

Scoring

• Update Point — set the positive score multiplier for all selected questions.
• Update Negative Multiplier — set the negative score multiplier for all selected questions.
• Update Scoring — set both the positive and negative multipliers in a single operation.

Metadata

• Set Language — assign an ISO language to all selected questions (e.g., English, French). Used to filter questions by language and for AI evaluation transcription.
• Set Status — change the status of all selected questions: Draft, Review, or Ready.

If your Question Bank has an active schema, the Mass Update tool validates all changes against it. Operations that would put questions into an invalid state are blocked and an error is shown before any changes are saved.
