Question Bank Question Properties

Tags

Tags are key-value metadata on a question — like difficulty: hard or topic: algebra — that let you filter the bank with precise, multi-condition queries rather than just browsing folders.

Updated 2026/07/21

Tags are key-value metadata attached to a question. For example: difficulty: hard, topic: algebra, source: internal, year: 2024. Unlike labels, every tag has both a key and a value, which makes them suited to structured, filterable metadata rather than free-form notes.

Filtering by Tags

The navigator supports multi-condition tag filtering:

  • Include a specific value — e.g. only questions where difficulty: hard
  • Include any value for a key — e.g. all questions that have a topic tag set, regardless of value
  • Exclude a value — e.g. hide questions where status: deprecated

Tags vs. Schema

By default, tag keys and values are free-form — anyone can type a new key or value when tagging a question. If your organization needs consistency (e.g. everyone using difficulty: hard instead of a mix of difficulty: Hard/difficulty: high), configure a Schema to restrict tag keys and values to a predefined list.
