Labels are free-form strings for lightweight, ad-hoc classification. Unlike tags, they have no key part — just a word or short phrase such as needs review, exam-ready, or translated.

Labels vs. Tags

Reach for a label when you need a quick, informal marker that doesn't fit a key-value structure — a note to yourself or the team, not a structured attribute you'll query precisely. Reach for a tag when the classification has a clear dimension (a key) and a specific value along that dimension.

Filtering by Labels

Multiple labels can be assigned to a single question. The Labels filter in the navigator lets you scope the question list to any combination of labels — useful for tracking ad-hoc workflows like a translation pass or a pre-launch review sweep.
