Percentage Custom Selection
A rubric where each criterion has its own named performance levels with custom percentage values.
The Percentage Custom Selection rubric is similar to Percentage Selection, but each criterion defines its own named performance levels rather than sharing a common set of column headings. This gives you more flexibility when different criteria need different rating scales.
Structure
- Criteria — the rows. Each criterion has a title, description, and weight.
- Cells per criterion — each criterion has its own set of cells (minimum 2). Each cell has a title, a description, and a percentage value. Cell titles are specific to each criterion, so one criterion might have “Fluent / Intermediate / Beginner” while another has “Complete / Partial / Missing”.
How the Score Is Calculated
The reviewer selects one cell per criterion. The selected cell’s percentage is multiplied by the criterion’s weight. Weighted values are summed to produce the overall success rate, then multiplied by the question’s point multiplier.
When to Use
Use Percentage Custom Selection when your criteria require different performance level names and descriptions. It offers more expressive rubrics than Percentage Selection at the cost of slightly more setup time per criterion.
