TestInvite's Question Bank supports a wide range of question types, allowing test creators to design assessments that align with different evaluation methods. Each question type has a unique input format, enabling flexibility in collecting responses based on the nature of the assessment.

1. Objective Questions

Objective questions present predefined response choices to choose from.

  • Multiple Choice Questions – Require selecting the correct answer from a list of choices. Multiple choice questions can be configured to allow single or multiple correct answers, with optional shuffling of options.
    • Matching Questions – Require pairing related items from two lists. Matching questions are useful for testing associations, definitions, or vocabulary skills.

      2. Open-ended Questions

      Open-ended questions require typed or media responses and are ideal for evaluating deeper understanding or practical skills.

      • Short Text – Require brief written responses such as a word, number, or phrase. Short text questions are great for factual recall or short answers.
        • Long Text – Require extended written responses. Long text questions are suitable for essays, explanations, or analytical answers.
          • Numeric Questions– Require a numerical value as the answer. Numeric questions are mostly used for math problems, measurements, or scientific data entry.
            • Coding Questions– Require writing and submitting code in a built-in code editor which is ideal for all kind of programming assessment needs.
              • Audio Recording Questions– Require test-takers to record their voice. Audio recording is useful for language assessments, oral exams, or pronunciation evaluation.
                • Video Recording Questions – Require capturing a video response. Video recording is often used for presentation, speaking skills, or behavioral interviews.
                  • Photo Capture Questions– Require uploading or taking a photo. The photo capture feature is Ideal for tasks involving handwritten work, visual tasks, or real-world observations.
                    • File Upload Questions– Require attaching an external file. File upload is useful when test-takers need to submit reports, documents, or design files.
                      • Tabular Questions – Require entering responses in a structured table format. Tabular input is ideal for tasks like data classification, scheduling, or multi-part calculations. Columns and rows can be customized to match the context of the question.

                        Each question type has configurable settings and display customization. Additionally, users can import questions to streamline the assessment creation process. Selecting the appropriate question type ensures the best possible assessment experience.

                        How to choose?

                        When selecting a question type, consider:
                        1. The response format needed (e.g., multiple-choice selection, text entry, file upload).
                        2. Whether the responses can be automatically evaluated or require manual review.
                        3. The level of interaction required, such as media-based responses or coding exercises.
