Numerical input questions

You can design a question that provides responders with a dedicated area for entering numeric answers exclusively. The numeric format can be customized to accept only numbers in a specified valid format, including delimiters and thousands separators. The system can automatically assess the answers by establishing predefined automatic grading criteria.

The numerical input question ensures that the test-taker responds to the question by writing a valid number.

Setting up the thousand separator and precision operator.

The format of the numerical response can be established by following the specified settings, which dictate the use of symbols such as commas and points for the thousand separator and precision operator, respectively. This ensures that the respondent is required to enter the numeric value in the prescribed format.

Automatic grading of answers

Given the numerical nature of the response, rules can be established to automatically evaluate the given answer. These rules include:

  • Equal: The response must be equal to a specified value.
    • Not equal: The response must not be equal to a specified value.
      • Between: The response must be a number between two specified values.
        • Greater than: The response must be greater than a specified value.
          • Less than: The response must be less than a specified value.
            • One of: The response must be equal to one of several specified values.
              • None of: The response must not be equal to any of the specified values.

Multiple rules can be combined to evaluate the response.
