The All-New TestInvite Application Is Here

Discover the all-new TestInvite application — a faster, redesigned experience with AI question generation, audio & video questions, and multi-language support.

A little over a year ago, we shared a preview of something ambitious: a complete rewrite of the TestInvite application — more than a thousand screens rebuilt from the ground up, designed around our new brand and a faster, more thoughtful experience. Today, that work is no longer a preview. The new TestInvite application is here, and it's already in the hands of our newest users.

When we first launched, we built TestInvite the way most bootstrapped founders do: function first, polish later. Over the years, with the help of a wonderful team, we kept adding capability — but the interface couldn't always keep pace with the product underneath it. This rewrite was our chance to fix that properly. The result is an application that feels less like a website and more like a tool you live in: cleaner navigation, faster screens, and a structure that gets out of your way so you can focus on building great assessments.

We're rolling this out gradually and carefully. Everyone who signs up now starts on the new application, and we're moving existing accounts over step by step so the transition stays smooth.

Here's a look at what's new.

Smarter, faster question creation

Writing good questions is the hardest part of any assessment, so this is where we focused first.

You can now generate questions with AI directly inside the editor. Both multiple-choice and matching questions have a Generate with A.I. option, so you can go from an idea to a draft question in seconds and then refine it to fit your needs.

We've also added two entirely new question types: audio and video recording questions, which let candidates respond in their own voice or on camera — ideal for language assessments, communication skills, and roles where how someone responds matters as much as what they say.

Matching questions are more flexible too, with several new layout options to suit different kinds of content.

Grade open responses with AI

Multiple-choice questions score themselves — but the most revealing answers are often the open ones. So alongside our new question types, we've introduced AI-assisted grading for open-ended responses, including written answers and the new audio and video recordings.

When a candidate responds in their own words or on camera, AI can evaluate the response against your criteria and propose a score, complete with a short rationale for why it landed where it did. You stay fully in control: every AI suggestion is there to review, adjust, or override, so you get the speed of automation without giving up the final say. For teams running high-volume or language and communication assessments, it turns hours of manual marking into minutes — while keeping your scoring consistent from the first response to the last.

A redesigned editing and test-taking experience

The test editor and task editor have both been rebuilt, along with the screens your candidates see when they take an assessment. Everything is more consistent, easier to navigate, and aligned with our new look — whether you're assembling a test or sitting down to take one.

We've also reworked how you handle rich content. The content editor now connects directly to a built-in media library, so you can upload, organize, and reuse images across your questions and tests from one place, without hunting for files or uploading the same image twice.

Clearer analytics and reporting

We've made your data more trustworthy and easier to act on. Analytics now reflect your organization's complete test usage — including activity beyond just the tests you personally created — so the numbers you see tell the full story. Reporting panels have been refined throughout, and you can now export your recent task sessions for deeper analysis outside the platform.

We've also made exports far more capable: every task now exposes its custom report fields in the export manager, so you can pull exactly the data you need, in the structure you want, for any task.

A far more powerful Question Bank

Managing a large question library is now genuinely effortless. You can organize questions with folders and tags, mark each one with a status — draft, in review, or ready — and assign a language and your own labels so everything fits the way your team works.

Finding the right question is just as easy. Advanced filtering lets you narrow your library by dimension, question type, tags and labels, status, and language, so you can pinpoint exactly what you need in seconds. And when you've found the questions you want, you can turn them into a test in a single step — simply select them in the Question Bank and build straight from there.

More control over tasks and consent

You can now associate one or more consent documents with a task, so the right agreements are always presented to your candidates at the right moment — making it simpler to stay compliant and keep your assessment workflows clean.

Built for global teams and candidates

Assessment is increasingly international, and the new application is built for it. You can now use the TestInvite dashboard in English, Spanish, French, Bulgarian, and Turkish, switching the entire admin experience into the language your team is most comfortable working in.

For your candidates, the reach is even wider. The test-taking experience is available in a long list of languages — including Arabic and Russian, alongside many others — so the people you assess can read instructions, navigate the interface, and complete their assessment in a language that feels natural to them. With Arabic, that also means full right-to-left support, so the entire candidate experience reads exactly as it should.

A refreshed knowledge base

The places you go to learn TestInvite have been redesigned too. We've given our Handbook a cleaner, more organized layout, and introduced a dedicated Help Center for our guides, tutorials, and answers to common questions. It's all part of bringing every corner of TestInvite — product and content alike — under one cohesive, modern experience.

We build it, but you guide it — and your feedback is what tells us where to go next. We'd love to hear what you think of the new application.
