Task Tab

Task Tab is the first tab that appears when creating a new Task (and when opening an Existing Task with the Task Editor).

From the Task Tab, you can edit:

  • Title of the task (Title)
  • Description of the task (Description)
    • This is a general summary about the Task. This is for the Applicants to understand what the Task is all about.
  • Instructions for the task (Instructions)
    • This is for the Applicants. This text area is used to give general directions on what you expect on how the Applicants should react (as in: this Task will take 1h to complete, etc.)
  • Exams which will be included in this task (Steps)

Steps

From the Steps area, you can add/remove Exams to your Task and you can edit their settings.

How to add an Exam to your Task:

  1. Go to Steps (Task tab),
  2. Click Select a Test dropdown menu and select the Exam you want to add.
    1. You can change the Test Title if you want.
  3. Click on the ADD button to add the Exam to your Task.
  4. Click Save button on top right to save your changes.

Changing Exam Settings of your Task

How to change the settings of an Exam in your Task:

  1. Go to Task steps,
  2. Click the blue pen button next to the Exam,
  3. Edit Step area will be opened downwards.
  4. Edit the Settings as you want.
  5. Click on blue Save button on the bottom to Apply the changes you made.
  6. Click Save button on top right to save your changes.

From the Edit Step area, you can change:

  • The Exam you have chosen (Select a Test),
  • The name of the Exam (title),
  • The short summary of the Exam (Short description),
  • The instructions for the Exam (Notice),
  • Access settings for the Exam (Availability),
  • Security settings (Monitoring & Safety) for this Exam.
  • Required Success of previous Exams to advance to this Exam (Preconditions)

Availability

You can edit custom Access settings for each Exam as you can do for the whole Task.

By limiting the number of accesses, you can assign the maximum number of times that an Exam can be taken by Applicants.

However, you can also specify multiple (number of accesses) or unlimited access for the Exams.

You can also gradually make Exams available within the task.

For Example, if the duration of the assignment is all of the month May, one or some of the Exams can be held on Week 1, while others can be held on Week 2 and so on.

Monitoring & Safety

Security of an online Exam is a paramount issue.

These extra Security options are available on Test Invite Exams:

  • Take pictures: The Applicant is photographed (these are recorded) at random intervals during the Exam period.
  • Record video: The video of the Applicant is recorded continuously via webcam during the Exam.
  • Full Screen mode: Forces the Applicant to run the web browser in full screen mode during the Exam.
    • The Applicant is automatically removed from the Exam when he/she moves to another tab or window.
    • This prevents the Applicant from copying from another source during the Exam.

Preconditions

For tasks with multiple Exams, you may require Applicants to reach a certain level of Success in previous Exams before taking the next Exams:

  • Must be completed: The Applicant must have completed the previous Exam
  • Has Score: The Applicant must have reached a specific Exam Score in the previous Exam (described in more detail below)
  • Has Dimension Score: The Applicant must have reached a specific Dimension Score in the previous Exam (described in more detail below)

You can put multiple Preconditions in one step.

Test Invite Exam Tool: Giving Test with Precondition

Only show this step when the preconditions are met: this Exam only appears to the Applicant when the Applicant meets the requirements set by you on the previous Exam.

Always show this step: The Applicant will always be able to see this step. However, he will not be able to proceed without meeting the requirements.

Score-based Preconditions

If you want to assign a Score-based Precondition, then you can use one of the following methods:

  • Sum: Setting the requirement for the combined Score that the Applicant got from the previous Exam.
    • The Applicant may choose to take an Exam more than once.
    • If the Applicant is able to take an Exam only once, that result is the Sum.
  • Average: Setting the requirement for the average Score that the Applicant got from the previous Exam.
    • The Applicant may choose to take an Exam more than once.
    • If the Applicant is able to take an Exam only once, that result is the Average.
  • Count: Setting the requirement for the number of times that the Applicant has taken the previous Exam.
    • If you have an Exam created with Random Question Selector or Random Page Picker, you can use this option to force the Applicant to take the previous Exam several times (each time with different questions) to get an Average Score.
  • Max: Setting the requirement for the best Score that the Applicant got from the previous Exam.
  • Min: Setting the requirement for the worst Score that the Applicant got from the previous Exam.
  • Last: Setting the requirement for the last Score that the Applicant got from the previous Exam.
